On the journey back to the south coast from Yorkshire in 2011 something quite miraculous happened. I mentioned to my wife that we could break the trip up by stopping in to see the National Space Centre, signs for which I’d noticed on the way up. She hadn’t noticed them. I’d noticed signs and my wife hadn’t. As I said, quite miraculous. So it was that we ended up adding a few hours to our southbound trek with a diversion into Leicester and a very enjoyable time at the space centre which impressed us from the outset because of the architecture of the building and continued to entertain our brains and eyes with numerous rocket parts and satellite parts and all things space-based.
