When Covid shut down the world – until it became a little too inconvenient for the rent barons funnelling money into the politicians’ back pockets, of course – we found a lot of our travel plans getting sensibly, if annoyingly, cancelled, so when the opportunity came at what would have been outside the normal tourist season to spend a week on a Greek island we’d never been to at a price that was very appealing, we took it. Kos was an absolute delight with some great historical sites to visit and a fabulous bar we spent a lot of time outside helping to drink it dry before it shut down again for the winter.
