We took advantage of a three-night trip offer we’d seen online to fly up to Iceland in 2015, staying at a Viking-themed hotel in a town to the south of the capital, and getting to experience the famous Golden Circle Tour of nearby highlights too. As a bonus, we also got to see the Northern Lights for the first time. We’ve returned to Iceland a few times since then and both agree that it’s our favourite country in Europe.
