We were visiting friends in Basingstoke one evening in February, 2015 and as is our way when we do evening trips far enough away to make public transport impossible we were staying in a hotel in the city. Arriving early we had some time to go sightseeing and one of the places we decided to visit was the National Trust property of The Vyne since we are both members. The house itself was closed on account of the time of year but we were able to take a look around its gardens and the nearby woodland which gave me an opportunity to snap a few photos of the property as we wandered about. We could only assume that someone at The Vyne was a Frank Herbert fan as we stumbled upon the presence of carved, wooden worms.
