On our first visit to the United States of America together we took a bus from Washington D.C. (as it was the biggest hub close to where we were staying) up to New York City for a couple of nights. This was a spur-of-the-moment thing, booked just a day or two before, so we didn’t go for any specific reason, and contented ourselves to just walk around the streets during the full day there. This photo is looking up at a skyscraper, admiring the long lines that point to an Art Deco influence in the building’s design.

Okay, fine, it’s not just any skyscraper, but the Empire State Building.

Skyscraper in New York City.

The processing for this image rework has been pretty basic, involving mostly just cropping to remove some additional buildings that made it into the shot, then sharpening up the lines, boosting the contrast to bring out more of the blacks and whites in the long columns of windows, and nudging the overall vibrancy up as the original photo was a little washed out.
