We paid a short visit to Amarante in Portugal during a cruise excursion taking us from Leixões into the Douro Valley and back in September 2024. This photograph has been slightly processed to warm the tones a little and pull some yellow tones out of the leaves from a shot that looked a little cold. The day we visited was overcast, but definitely not cold, and it did rain during the early part of this look around Amarante, but it was that misty rain that simply soaks through over time rather than gets you instantly damp. The river here is the Rio Tâmega.
