Cruising to the Adriatic on the P&O Cruises ship Azura in 2023 gave us a chance to not only visit Croatia for the first time, but also the opportunity to take an excursion in one port across the border into Slovenia where we spent the day split between the capital and the very famous Lake Bled area. The remaining port on this cruise was in Italy, but also a new one for us in the form of Trieste, and this turned out to be one of our most favourite Italian ports to visit. If all that wasn’t enough then we also started and ended this week-long cruise in Malta – again a new port – and were lucky enough to fly in early enough to explore Valletta before the sail away.
